Our Story in a Nutshell

Stan Harris, a teacher with the Orange Park School District was diagnosed with Parkinson's in his early 40's. As the symptoms progressed, Stan started attending support group meetings in Jax Beach, UF,  and Mayo Clinic. He decided to form a support group to serve the Orange Park and neighboring areas. On October 20, 2012 the Orange Park Parkinson's Support Group was formed with 14 people attending the first meeting.

Due to complications of the disease, Stan decided to move in 2022 to Virginia to be close to his daughters. Before leaving, he asked Gregg to lead the group. In addition to maintaining the educational programs and exercise classes, our group now incorporates special events throughout the year: bingo, picnic, bowling, group dinners and bbque. Several fundraising events are being held to be able to maintain the programs. Today, the group has grown exponentially, stronger and dedicated to the cause of the group.
